Recipe: Fig Honey Thyme Cocktail | Stamford Moms

Ingredients

– 3 fresh figs, cut in half
– 1/4 cup honey
– 1/4 cup water
– 1.5 oz fresh lemon juice
– 5 fresh sage leaves
– 1.5 oz cointreau (or other orange liquor)
– 2 oz bourbon (may be replaced with rum)
– seltzer to top off drink
– sprig of thyme for garnish

Directions

1. To make the honey thyme simple syrup, stir honey, water, and fresh sage n a small sauce pot on medium high heat for five minutes. Let cool for 30 minutes.  Remove sage leaves.
2.  Add two (2) fresh figs to a mixer and muddle together. Set other fresh fig aside for garnish.
3. Add lemon juice, 2 oz. of honey sage simple syrup, cointreau, bourbon, and ice to a mixer and shake well.
4. Pour into two glasses over ice and top with a little seltzer.  Stir, and garnish with 1/2 fresh fig and sprig of thyme for each drink. Enjoy!
