Christmas Morning Recipe Ideas! | Stamford Moms

Looking for a great recipe that everyone will love on Christmas Eve morning? Here are a few of our favorites… some can even be assembled ahead of time and popped into the oven morning of!

But my kids’ favorite this year are Rudolph Pancakes! The kids literally gasped when I handed them their plates and then ate everything on the plate!

INGREDIENTS:

Your favorite pancake mix (and everything to make it) or frozen pancakes
Bacon
Strawberries cut into quarters
Whipped Cream
Eye sprinkles, chocolate chips or blueberries

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Make your pancakes, you’ll need one large circle for the head, a small circle for the snout, ovals or small circles for the ears.
  2. Assemble your reindeer’s face using those four pancakes.
  3. Make your bacon.
  4. Add bacon next to the ears for antlers.
  5. Add a strawberry for the nose (if it won’t stay, squirt a little whipped cream)
  6. Add the eyes.
  7. Squirt whipped cream under the face for some snow and add two strawberries for a bowtie!

This delicious Sausage & Hash Breakfast Bake from Habitual Hostess might just become a family tradition!

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 lbs. ground breakfast sausage
1 cup diced onion
1 16 oz. bag of shredded potatoes
12 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon Cholula hot sauce
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
Salt and Pepper
Minced red peppers and chives to garnish for some Christmas flair!

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Brown and crumble the sausage over medium heat in skillet. Add the diced onions, turn heat down to medium low, and sauté an additional three minutes.
  3. Add the potatoes, 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper, sauté another two minutes. If potatoes are frozen, add an additional three minutes.
  4. Put mixture into a greased 9 x 13 casserole dish and smooth and press with a spatula.
  5. Whisk together the eggs, milk, Cholula, one cup of the grated cheddar cheese and 1 teaspoon of salt. Pour over the sausage potato mixture.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes. Sprinkle an additional 1/2 cup of cheddar on top and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until fully set in the middle and golden brown on top.
  7. Garnish with peppers and chives if using.NOTE: This bake can be assembled and left in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours and baked the next morning, also quick to put together morning of!
