Where To Make Clothing Donations | Stamford Moms

Cleaning out your closet as we head into a new season? There are a number of ways to donate and recycle your unwanted items. Scroll down for list of organizations accepting donations and even offering pickup services.

HELPSY

Through HELPSY you can schedule a home pick up in Stamford between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. HELPSY accepts clothing, other textiles, and shoes. See the full list of items accepted, here. Just pick a day and have your clothes by the curb in clearly labeled plastic bags. Fill out a pick up request form, here.

Person to Person

1864 Post Road, Darien
Drop off Monday – Friday, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
In need of everything from baby clothing and gear, shoes, to winter coats. Sort donations by gender and size and placed in bags with gender and size written on the outside. P2P does not accept strollers, car seats, used toys, electronics, books, household appliances, or furniture.

Clothes to Kids of Fairfield County

Lathon Wider Community Center, 137 Henry Street, 2nd Floor
Quality new and used clothing and shoes that would be appropriate for kids (K-12th grade) to wear to school. For more information, please contact the Clothing Donation Coordinator. Find a full list of accepted items, here.

Malta House Community Outreach

Malta House is a home in Norwalk for women experiencing homelessness who are pregnant or parenting. The goal for each family is that they transition to independent living upon completion of our program, and many are in need of various household items.
This group on Facebook is designed to match those who can give with those in need! 

Open Doors

Open Doors’ Smilow Life Center, side entrance on Merritt Place, Norwalk
Drop off on the last Tuesday of each month, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Click here for a list of most needed items.

Vietnam Veterans of America

Schedule a pick up online here or over the phone by calling (800) 775-VETS. They especially need clothing!
