Update Your Family Photos This Spring! | Stamford Moms
Spring is here and it’s a beautiful time of year to update your family photographs! Your children are only little for a short time and these moments of childhood are fleeting!
Courtney Souza Photography is offering Spring Sessions on Saturdays through June as well as a day of Motherhood Mini Sessions on May 11th. Moms, treat yourself this Mother’s Day to photographs of you and your little ones to capture this very special moment in your lives!

As a mother of two little girls, Courtney truly appreciates the value of documenting the beautiful season of childhood. Her sessions are relaxed in nature as she believes in fostering genuine, candid moments between families. She believes the best, most beautiful photographs come from allowing families to play and cuddle and capturing the real connections between loved ones.

Looking for some advice when it comes to styling your spring photos? Courtney has some tips for creating beautiful shots!
1. Ideally, you’ll want to schedule your photographs during the peak of season when things are in bloom. Generally, in this area, that is late April through mid May. If you should miss that window due to travel, busy schedules, etc., you can always get creative! Imagine your daughter wearing a flower crown or your son holding your favorite flower in a neutral field setting.
2. Give some thought to what colors you’d like for your photographs. If you’d like vibrant and colorful, consider a field with yellow tulips. Prefer a more subtle color palette, perhaps cherry blossoms and dogwoods with their pale pink and white tones would be best. Your photograph’s color palette is especially important if you plan to display these images in your home.

3. “What should we wear for our session?” This is the question I am most commonly asked. The simple answer is that you’ll be looking back on these images for years to come so it’s important to select pieces that are timeless, but also reflect your family’s style and compliment the season. Easy, right? I would suggest pale blue and white as a starting point as they tend to suit girls and boys equally, as well as adults. They also compliment lavender, pink, and yellow beautifully. Don’t be afraid to mix in a floral pattern if you feel so inclined and for young children, having a cardigan on hand is never a bad idea, especially for lengthy outdoor sessions.
