The Staci Zampa Team’s Rec For A Hip & Delicious Meal! | Stamford Moms

by The Staci Zampa Team

Stamford is becoming a hip, fun, energetic city that is filled with people looking for the next best food photo op.

When deciding where to go for my son’s birthday dinner, he immediately shouted out “Taco Daddy!”, a restaurant in Harbor Point, Instagram famous for their extravagant take on tacos and more. Their bar is fully stocked with every drink you can imagine, with nightly specials clearing the way for the fantastic food we enjoyed.

Taco Daddy can get crowded, so definitely make sure you get there early as there are no reservations at this indoor-outdoor restaurant. When you walk past the restaurant, the glowing red “Taco Daddy” sign welcomes you, and we sat at a beautiful table outside next to ivy covered fences with Cardi B playing over the speakers.

When you get to Taco Daddy, you have to try at least two of their signature drinks, and you can even ask for something made special based on what you like in your drinks. We ordered a spicy mango and mezcal, hibiscus vodka and melon, as well as a giant hollowed out pineapple filled with a slushy Hennessey rose drink (The perfect picture!!). As we tried to make a dent in the drinks, a parade of food came out of the kitchen. We were greeted with delicious chips and guacamole (with pomegranate seeds and toasted pepitas), rich and creamy Mexican street corn waffle fries, and a giant take on a “crunchwrap” from all of our favorite fast food joint, stuffed with cheese, beef, guacamole, sour cream, and oozing from all sides.

Stuffed to the gills, we made room in our stomachs for the sizzling, juicy lobster and steak fajitas (served with fresh tortillas, salsa, and sour cream), as well as an assortment of the famous tacos we had to try. The chicken scarpiello taco was spicy and crunchy, and the lomo saltado tacos were topped with a luscious green aji pepper sauce. The steak was a perfect rare, and the lobster was moist and succulent. The third taco we tried was the famous chicken and bacon taco, stuffed with fried chicken, bacon, and a tangy mayo sauce on top. After eating, we all looked at each other, satisfied and full.

Not only was the food literally to die for, but the service was perfect and helpful, and the ambiance was amazing. Make sure to check out their rotations of DJ’s and music, which comes on most nights. If you live in the tri-state area and haven’t yet been to Taco Daddy, get in your car and go now!
