Stamford Public School bus routes are updated every year based on the home address information you provide.
If your child is new to Stamford Public Schools (SPS) in the 2024-2025 school year (i.e. incoming kindergarten student or transferring from another district) or you are a returning family that has recently moved within Stamford, you must take action NOW to ensure your child has a bus assignment for the first day of school.
New Students
If you have a child starting kindergarten or an older child transferring into Stamford Public Schools, you must register by Wednesday, August 14 for your child to be guaranteed a bus assignment on the first day of school. Click here to register.
Returning Students Who Moved Within Stamford
If your child attended SPS last year and your family recently moved within Stamford, you must update your address in PowerSchool. Please contact the school your child attended during the 2023-24 school year by Wednesday, August 7 to make this change. You will need to provide proof of your new address.
If your address is not updated by August 7 and your child qualifies for bus transportation at their new school, we will not be able to guarantee a bus assignment until the second week of school.
Opt Out of Bus Transportation
If your child qualifies for bus transportation but does NOT take the bus, you may opt-out of bus service by completing the Bus Transportation Opt-Out Form in PowerSchool.
Completing the Bus Transportation Opt-Out Form will help us make routes more efficient. Should your child’s transportation needs change, you may contact your school principal to reinstate your child’s bus rider status.
Finding your Child’s Bus Assignment
Your child’s bus assignment will be posted in the PowerSchool Parent Portal on Thursday, August 22. Morning and evening bus routes for each school will be posted in the transportation section of the SPS Website.
