Recipe: “Healthy” Homemade Chocolate Mousse Pudding | Stamford Moms

by Carolyn with The Cozy Food Feed

One of the things I love most when I make recipes for my family is being creative with how to make dishes healthier than they traditionally are. I don’t cook with gluten or dairy, so people often call me when they are having guests over who have food allergies. This recipe takes about five minutes to make and can be great for entertaining, or just having a “guilt free” treat in the house. Don’t be afraid of the avocado base; you can’t taste it, and all it does is make the pudding a creamy, beautiful texture.

INGREDIENTS

2 avocados
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (or raw cacao).
4 tablespoons maple syrup
1/2 cup almond milk (you can use any kind of milk here!)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Blend all of the ingredients in a blender until creamy and smooth.
2. Taste to see if you’d like it a little sweeter; if you’d like, add a touch more of the maple syrup. That’s it!
3. You can enjoy this delicious treat with fruit, alone, or like a fondue topping. You’ll be shocked at how delicious it is!
