Today we are speaking with Kaile Zagger, Chief Executive Officer & Member of the Board of Directors of Infinant Health. She is one of our own Westport Moms and is leading the charge for us as a great example of what it is to be a great mom and have a big career. She is an example that you can truly have both, do both really well and significantly contribute to our community while she does it.
Widely recognized as a top global, “Social Impact Leader” and an expert in working to improve standards of care in healthcare, Kaile has spent her career elevating and progressing global healthcare through the introduction of groundbreaking products and disrupting conventional thinking in the global space. She is hailed by her peers as a “Warrior for women and children,” has been recognized as a “Top Ten Chief Operating Officer Globally,” in 2021 and was also awarded a coveted place as a “Top World Leader in Healthcare” in 2022.
In addition to her many professional accomplishments, Kaile is also Co-Founder and CEO of a charitable organization that was constructed to help eradicate late-stage diagnosis of female cancers, a speaker for universities and an author for Worth Media. Kaile has been adorned with two State of Connecticut Proclamations that were awarded for her philanthropic work in advocation for women and preventative disease. Kaile has now taken the helm of Infinant Health, moved the executive headquarters from the Bay Area, CA to Norwalk, CT. She has led the company through a large scale transformation over the past 6 months and are now well positioned to really help babies live their best life of health and wellness. Q: We love watching you go! You continue to be a strong social impact leader and love to hear more about what you are doing now. You have been hailed as a “warrior for women and children” – how does your new company impact women and children?
A: Infinant Health’s mission is to tackle the devastating autoimmune crisis that we currently have in developed nations – by bringing infants microbiome back to the state that nature intended. Our ground breaking discovery , EVC001 (Evivo) and rich discovery pipeline of products – can naturally restore immunity, in order to set the baby on a trajectory of lifelong health, versus disease prone.
Q: What does the company do?
A: 9 out of 10 babies in the United States are born without a critical strain of bacteria (EVC001). This strain was once present in all babies, and still is, in countries that have not modernized. When babies have this life changing bacteria – their immunity, cognition and metabolomic health are proven to be stronger and they are set on a trajectory of lifelong health. This is the strain that nature intended babies to grow with. It has been lost – we can bring it back as we have isolated the strain in nature and can now delivery it back to the baby.
Q: What is your long term vision for the future for the company?
A: We have rapidly accelerated our discovery engine and are developing products through the same natural discovery process. We are focused on launching our product for the mom when she is pregnant, that will establish a strong foundation for her microbiome and a product for toddlers as they transition from breast milk to food. Its also important to us that we help ensure babies are protected as they receive vaccinations or antibiotics – both of which can strongly and negatively effect the child’s levels of this important bacteria. Levels of this bacteria can fluctuate in these phases of life and our promise is to ensure we are protecting and setting the baby on the right course of health from conception through the age of two.
Q: What do you hope Infinant Health can do in the short term?
A: Our vision in the short term, is to ensure every baby has the benefit of this ground breaking discovery, as close to birth as possible so we can invert the curve of auto immune diseases such as NEC in the NICU, the atopic march, food allergies, type 1 diabetes, cognition, and others – where this strain has been proven to show strong protection and improvement for babies. The world of childhood sickness doesn’t have to look like this. We have found the strain in nature that can help us correct the journey we are on – and we work tirelessly every day to ensure as many babies as possible have access to EVC001 (Evivo).
