But with revitalized warehouses and galleries throughout the downtown area, Harbor Point has that feel. Fortina, one of the best restaurants we have been to in recent years, was introduced to Harbor Point in 2015. When you walk into Fortina, you are impressed with the sky-high ceilings and artwork, in a homey environment that brings you right to Williamsburg.
Downstairs, the bar area is set up in a large L shape, which allows for diners to sit and watch the games on TV or sit at one of the many tables or high-bar areas downstairs. When you walk up the cable-wired stairs, the upstairs area is romantic and quiet, perfect for a date or a family night out. Fortina has a few locations, originating in Armonk NY, and reaching from Rye and Yonkers back up to Stamford. The menu at Fortina is packed with options that are so delicious and delectable that seconds has become a mind-frame at this restaurant.
We are absolutely obsessed with the meatballs, which are light and flavorful, topped with the staple red sauce that Fortina has perfected. The pizza options are to die for, as they are thin-crusted, and topped with fresh, seasonal ingredients such as the Tenderoni with spicy Calabrian chili and honey, or the “LB” with fresh truffle and burrata. If you are in the mood for an insane bowl of pasta, the wood-fired paccheri with mini meatballs always hits the spot, or our new favorite, the baked gnocchi with ragu.
Besides the menu that is filled with delectable options, the drinks featured are also a perfect accompaniment to the meal. The “Bada Bing”, with Aperol, lemon, and grapefruit vodka is light and refreshing, while the sangrias are sweet yet strong, perfect with a piece of pizza or their fantastic garlic bread. Regardless of the food or drink that you decide to try, every option at Fortina in Harbor Point will satisfy your cravings beyond belief, so much so that you will definitely be back soon. Do not forget to head to Fortina!
