Order your oysters in advance online. They are offered in quantities of 24, 36, or 48 and come with a shucking knife. Pick them up fresh from the Stella Mar Oysters dock at 330 Ludlow Street in Stamford on Friday, 4 – 6 p.m. or Saturday, 10 a.m. – noon!
During Oyster Week, SoundWaters is creating videos all about oysters – selecting, preparing, enjoying, etc. – to help you kick off your summer. Learn how to shuck an oyster with Steve Schafer from the Stella Mar Oyster Company!
Oysters live on the floor of Long Island Sound, but they also thrive in the intertidal zone where they are exposed to air for several hours a day at low tide.
