Lisa Beth Michelson, An Intimate Affaire Owner
What inspired you to start this business?
My love of the lingerie business! I also love working with people and making them feel good about themselves
What makes your business model unique?
We do customized private fittings. Each customer has a one-on-one experience to achieve comfort and fit
For moms who are on the go and have very little time to think about their own undergarments, why is a custom fitting so important? How long does it usually take?
It’s special “Me Time” for each woman. We hear so many times “I keep ordering bras on line, nothing fits, they all have to go back.” We take the guesswork out of bra shopping We select the bras for our customers to choose from that will give optimum fit and comfort. Each fitting is individual and can take anywhere from half an hour or more. We figure roughly an hour for each appointment

An Intimate Affaire has a wide selection of loungewear, shapewear, pajamas, underwear and bras!
We work with women who have many different needs and can help with anything from wire free bras to DD+ sizes, sports bras, pushup bras, lacy bras, sexy bras, women who have gravity issues, women that have had surgical procedures, nursing bras for new moms. We also sell very soft comfortable loungewear and sleepwear that makes you feel so good.
How long does a bra typically last (many moms probably have not gotten a new one in a very long time)?
A bra can last 12 months with proper care and rotation. But this varies significantly based on factors like wear, frequency, washing habits, and quality. You should replace a bra when it loses its support, the band is stretched out, the cups are misshapen or the straps are worn out.
What is your #1 piece of advice for women looking for new bras?
Do not compromise comfort for style. We have women come in and tell us they can never find a comfortable bra. They dig in, leave red marks and when they leave they are comfortable and have a smile on their faces. You just know when you have the right fit – it feels like home.
Bras should be comfortable, take the pressure off your back, not dig into the shoulders and give proper uplift. The right bra affects the way clothes fit, posture, and even confidence. Everything starts with the proper foundation.

An Intimate Affaire carries bras in several styles, colors and brands!
What is the most rewarding thing about your job?
Helping people find comfort and the right support. The right bra builds confidence. The women who come in here are not just customers, we look out for them along their journey. We will never just put anyone in a size because that’s what’s in stock. We will custom order to make sure they have the exact right fit. We go the extra mile for our customers. It’s always nice when multi generations come in and we can work with them.
