Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner, great food with a great view and fresh air makes any meal better for everyone! Here’s a list of our 5 favorite local restaurants that offer outdoor seating and are perfect for the whole family!
The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood
The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood has become our family’s favorite place to head to any time of year, but especially when it’s warm and sunny out! The patio sits on the water and you have a great view of the boats passing by as you sip a cocktail and enjoy your meal. The lobster rolls (and honestly, everything else) are amazing and the restaurant is kid friendly! They have crayons, a coloring page and a great kids menu (my son loves the mac and cheese). Lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch at Rowayton Seafood feel like a mini vacation! After the meal, get one of their delicious desserts… or walk over to Brendan’s 101 for ice cream!
Patisserie Salzburg
Patisserie Salzburg is great if you’re looking to grab a low key bite! They have delicious pastries, baked goods, salads, sandwiches and a dessert display that will make your mouth water! There are a few tables outside, situated in the middle of Harbor Point. But they’re great, especially if you’re looking to get out of the house early on a weekend morning because the kids are up and you don’t feel like sitting around until the rest of the world wakes up. They open at 6 a.m. daily! And you can go for a walk on the boardwalk or take the kids to play in the sand afterward!
Wagon Wheel Wine & Spirits
Food trucks are super fun in the summer! Wagon Wheel Fine Wine & Spirits at 1051 Long Ridge Road hosts food trucks Monday – Saturday for lunch and/or dinner. The schedule and trucks vary by week and can be found here! The best part is, Wagon Wheel has created an adorable picnic area in the grassy area of the parking lot, complete with picnic tables, flowers, candles and lights! So place your order at the truck, sit down and enjoy! Want dessert after your meal? Head to Carvel across the street!
Capriccio Cafe
Capriccio Cafe is an old favorite (literally, I remember when it opened)! Nothing says hello summer like a meal on their patio. Located in Stamford Downtown, it’s convenient, fun for little ones to watch cars drive by and dogs walk by. This weekend we checked out their new summer brunch menu… it’s a must! Plus, the casual environment makes it very family friendly!
Table 104
Table 104 is located on Long Ridge Road, but has a patio that makes it feel like you’re in a far less busy location. The atmosphere is casual, the food is good and the kids menu is sure to be a winner! Plus, it’s convenient if you live in the North Stamford/Westover area! They offer lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch!

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is casual, fun and has a great patio to enjoy a summer meal!
Overton’s Seafood
Overton’s Seafood is great for a casual seafood meal followed by ice cream! Their lobster rolls are good and they have an assortment of fried seafood, in addition to offering burgers, fries and hot dogs. There’s also an ice cream shop at Overton’s and Mr. Frosty’s is around the corner. Eat outside on the patio and look out onto the water at the boats! Feel like you went on a beachside vacation for the evening!
