5 Tips for Planning Lunch for Girlfriends! | Stamford Moms

The sunshine and warm weather make spring a great time to plan a get together with friends! So if you’re looking to plan a lunch to get your girlfriends together before the kids get out of school for summer, we have five tips to get you started!

Choose a Theme!

Start by finding a theme to base the party around! These are a few of our favorites for spring:

  • Garden Tea Party
  • Spring Picnic
  • Ice Cream Party
  • Taco Time
  • Flower Frenzy

Hire a Great Caterer

Hiring a great caterer is not only the perfect way to make sure the food is delicious, but it also takes a lot of pressure off of you as the host! It gives you time to enjoy your guests and your party, without worrying about checking the oven timer and making sure dishes are plated nicely! Food pictured in this post is from Palmers Market! Choose a Signature Cocktail or Mocktail

Having a signature cocktail or mocktail at your party adds an extra little bit of fun… and is a great way to bring in your theme! Add a flower garnish to the signature cocktail for a Garden Party or Flower Frenzy. A margarita is always a fun option for Taco Time and maybe a Rootbeer Float (spiked or not) for an Ice Cream Party. Tea options both hot and iced are great idea for a Garden Tea Party! We love using Ripe Bar Juice as a mixer! Head to Wagon Wheel Wine & Spirits to check out the flavors and pick some up!

Create a Beautiful Table

Creating a beautiful table doesn’t have to be intimidating! It’s a fun time to bring out that china you never use! If you want something different or more closely linked to your theme, look for fancy disposable plates and silverware! There are a lot of really nice disposable options that don’t feel like your typical paper plate. Add a nice table cloth and some flowers, as well as a printed menu to match your invitation! A little favor at each place setting is also a nice token for your friends!

Create a DIY Station

Having a station with a DIY theme tied (again) back to your theme is super fun! A flower bar is a natural and beautiful option for springtime (it also makes a nice party favor). An ice cream sundae bar or taco bar are also fun ones!
