Wednesday Meeting Will Discuss the Causes of Existing Mold Conditions in Stamford Public Schools | Stamford Moms

The Mold Task Force has scheduled a public meeting on Wednesday, April 24 to discuss their findings with respect to water intrusion and mold conditions in Stamford Public Schools.

The Task Force has spent months identifying and documenting the various conditions throughout the district and has worked closely with industry experts to identify the underlying causes as well as overseeing the remediation and restoration work needed. The magnitude of this work across the district has proven to be significant. The ultimate goal of the Task Force is to ensure that every school building is water tight, mold-free, and supplied with adequate indoor air quality throughout.

The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Rogers International auditorium. The Task Force invites members of the public, teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and members of our elected boards.
“Throughout this entire process, we have consistently heard the community’s request for answers as to how the physical conditions of our schools were allowed to deteriorate to their current state. We have been mindful not to prejudge the actions of others, choosing instead to follow the facts wherever they may lead. We are now at a point where we can responsibly report on our findings, “said Mold Task Force member Mike Handler.

The Task Force will be joined at the public meeting by members of their professional team, including the industrial hygienist, architects, engineers and construction managers.

The Mold Task Force publishes ALL of its information here. All questions and concerns can be made to the Mold Task Force via email to [email protected] or by calling (203) 977-4847.
