
The City of Stamford’s Juneteenth celebration will take place at Mill River Park on Saturday, June 15, 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
It will be the fourth annual citywide Stamford Juneteenth Celebration. The theme this year is “Freedom”. The event will mirror the growth of Stamford, celebrate freedom and the advancements of black people by showcasing black culture.
This family friendly Juneteenth event will commence with a flag raising at the government center at 11:30 a.m. followed by a parade to Mill River Park, led by John Starks, who will be serving as the Grand Marshal this year.
The Juneteenth celebration will continue with special guest celebrity radio personality, DJ, and producer DJ Clue, live music, local entertainment, a children’s activity tent where Connecticut’s elected officials will read children’s books and a local black art show hosted in the Whittingham Discovery Center. Food and business vendors will also be there.
This is a free event open to the public.
