Stamford Town Center Presents the Block Party of the Summer | Stamford Moms

This weekend, Stamford Town Center will present THE Block Party of the summer!

The event will be held at 230 Tresser Boulevard, the Stamford Town Center Restaurant Plaza. The party celebrates the diverse cultures that make up the community and will feature local food, drinks, music, giveaways, a group workout and activities the whole family can enjoy. The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25. On Saturday, the party lasts until 10 p.m. and on Sunday, the Block Party comes to an end at 6 p.m.

Stamford Town Center has organized this event to both celebrate Stamford’s diversity and as a symbol of the economic recovery the region is experiencing right now. For more than a year, southern Fairfield County and the tri-state area were the epicenter of the U.S. coronavirus pandemic. However, the dedication of the community, the diligence of first responders and front-line workers, and determination of state and local officials has guided the state through one of its most challenging periods ever. More citizens are vaccinated each day and slowly but surely, the region is getting back to normal.

“Connecticut, and Stamford in particular, is incredibly diverse and that’s what makes it so special.  In Stamford, diversity works for us, and we celebrate it,” said Dan Stolzenbach, General Manager of the Stamford Town Center. “Every day, right here in our backyard, cultures from all over the globe are commingling, working, and raising their families together. We wanted to highlight Stamford’s many cultures while simultaneously bringing the community together after the last 18 months of isolation and uncertainty. What better way to do that than by hosting a Summer Block Party? The weekend will be filled with a variety of global food, traditions, music, and activities for the whole family. Honestly, I can’t wait.”

Local community groups, organizations, and vendors will participate in the event and pay homage to their countries of origin, including China, Japan, India, Pakistan, Guyana, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Germany, and Ireland. Also, InTempo Stamford, a music education program specifically designed for children 6-17 will be one of the musical performances.

Admission to the block party is free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Milford Point Brewing will be hosting the beer garden!
