Stamford Town Center Hosting Second Annual Summer Block Party to Kickoff Summer! | Stamford Moms

On Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26, 2022, Stamford Town Center will present its second annual Summer Block Party at 230 Tresser Blvd, also known as the STC Restaurant Plaza. This party will serve as a kickoff to summer, celebrating arts, culture, and community. It will also be a celebration of the mall’s 40th anniversary. Guests will enjoy a festive atmosphere with dance performances, cultural demonstrations, comics, jugglers, magicians, stilt walkers, face painters, food trucks, a beer tent, as well as many unique and instagrammable experiences – a giant mushroom forest as one example. The festivities begin at noon both Saturday and Sunday and carry through the golden hour, ending at 8pm.

Now in its second year, the Summer Block Party will be bigger and better than last year. “Stamford has tremendous momentum right now. We’re happy to be part of the city’s ongoing transformation and to serve as the central meeting place for the community,” said Dan Stolzenbach, General Manager of Stamford Town Center. “We’re once again highlighting arts and culture in the community, offering up a plethora of entertainment, cultural experiences, and unique activations. We’re also extremely pleased to feature some of our new tenants as part of this celebration.”

The mall has recently announced several new tenants. On the Restaurant Plaza, Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse, Puerto Vallarta, and the New York Comedy Club are all expected to open in next few months. Inside, the mall has announced new tenants including La Picante, Soccer Fun Zone, Black Pearl Bubble Tea, Balloons and Beyond, and Fleur Beauty Lounge, in addition to the recently opened El Charrito Taqueria. And, of course, planning is currently underway for the Todd English Food Hall that will open later next year.

For the Block Party, the mall’s Restaurant Plaza will be transformed into a park-like, festival setting with turf, overhead lights, misting stations, multiple stages, food trucks, drink trucks, games and other activations. Throughout the weekend, live performances, guided by emcee DJ Tang Sauce will keep the atmosphere festive. Entertainment will include shows by illusionist David Garrity, juggling and variety act Andrew’s Big Show, comedians from New York Comedy Club, stilt-walkers, face painting, temporary tattoos, and balloon sculptures, along with a plethora of musical and dance performances by The Ballet School of Stamford, Parsons Dance, SYREN Modern Dance, East Coast Contemporary Ballet, and Alison Cook Beatty Dance just to name a few. Attendees will enjoy ice cream by Milkcraft, drinks by Lifted Spirits, desserts by Coffee Luca of Greenwich, a beer tent courtesy of Half Full Brewery, as well as food and beverages from many of the mall’s restaurants. In a nod to the community’s amazing diversity, local community groups will participate in the event with dance and musical performances to pay homage to their countries of origin.

“Our annual Block Party serves as the official kickoff to summer in Stamford, and because we’re celebrating our 40th anniversary, we’re going all out this year. We really just want to bring everyone together to celebrate this amazing community and to have a great time. We’ll have multiple stages, strolling entertainment, food, drinks, and loads of activities for the entire family,”  Stolzenbach said.
