Stamford Schools Approved For Distance Learning | Stamford Moms

SPS Staff and Families,

While I planned to send a note to all of you at the end of the week to check in, I just could not wait until
then to share the positive news that we just received from the Connecticut State Department of
Education (CSDE). Thanks to the planning, creativity and commitment of members of my leadership
team and every member of our staff, I am happy to report that the CSDE has approved our waiver and
accepted our Distance Learning Plan, submitted in response to our closure due to COVID-19 risks. This
approval means that all Distance Learning days will count as school days. We will all, staff and students
alike, enjoy our scheduled April break from April 6, 2020, through April 10, 2020.

The feedback I have received from parents and community members thus far regarding our distance-
learning opportunities has been extremely positive.  Please know that the entire staff of SPS is
committed to continuing these learning experiences for our students in the weeks to come.
