Stamford Public Schools Announce Masks Will Be Optional | Stamford Moms

From SPS Superintendent Tamu Lucero

As forecasted in the Monday communication update to staff and families, the Board of Education met this evening and, understanding the recommendation of the Office of the Superintendent, repealed the Mask Policies.

Effective tomorrow, Wednesday, March 2, masks will no longer be required but are recommended, based on one’s personal level of risk, for all Stamford Public School sites including APPLES Pre-K and all school buses.

For the most up to date SPS COVID-19 positivity numbers for reported cases for students and staff please visit our COVID-19 Dashboardupdated every Friday.  Additional information can be found by visiting the City of Stamford webpage, where COVID-19 community and state positivity and case rates, hospitalizations and deaths are reported.

Finally, given the new recommendation for mask wearing, based on one’s personal level of risk, families should discuss and enforce this decision with their children.  However, what is most important is that we respect each other’s decision related to mask wearing.

Stay Safe and Healthy!
