Space Invasion Launches in Stamford Downtown | Stamford Moms
Get your cameras ready… there’s a fun new interactive outdoor sculpture exhibit in Stamford Downtown that the kids will LOVE! 30 colorful spacecrafts have popped up on sidewalks and in parks for your viewing and selfie-taking pleasure this summer!

Stamford Downtown assembled artists across the tri-state to create works of art using the unpainted fiberglass spacecrafts. Each is now an originally designed and painted eight-foot tall fiberglass rocket, UFO crash or UFO beam. Each spacecraft is sponsored by a business or organization.

The exhibit is officially named, the UC Funds presents Space Invasion in Stamford Downtown, it’s the ninth exhibit of its kind and the 26th annual sculpture exhibit produced by the Stamford Downtown Special Service District. This is a non-profit organization responsible for managing and promoting Stamford Downtown as the region’s destination for dining, entertainment, retail, housing and education.

Dan Palmier, CEO of UC Funds and Owner of Residence Inn by Marriott Stamford Downtown says, “We have become passionately immersed in the city’s culture and with the unique interactive space theme of this year’s exhibit. It will energize Stamford Downtown’s aesthetic public space and attract locals and visitors throughout the Northeast. We’re delighted to host today’s kickoff and to support the city and the Veterans Park Initiative.”
