Social Distanced Activity Ideas For Toddlers - Stamford Moms

Keeping toddlers entertained is a challenge and COVID-19 has made it even more difficult as we continue social distancing and as Stamford playgrounds remain closed.

But, if you’re looking to get your toddler our of the house and find new ways to get their energy out, we have a few activity suggestions. Check them out, below!

The Connecticut Beardsley Zoo

  • Online ticketing system splitting the day into two sessions, 9 a.m. – noon and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. allowing for up to 500 guests per session and closing between sessions for cleaning.
  • All guests required to wear a mask.
  • One-way loop around the zoo so guests can explore while social distancing. All buildings will be closed to the public; however, guests will be able to pre-order food online from the café and pick it up from the take-out window. Also, the gift shop will be open for online purchases which will be made available for pick up at gift shop kiosk.

Outdoor seating is available. Seats are limited so they are available on a first-come basis.

Mill River Park

Silverman’s Farm Animal Farm

  • 50 people will be allowed in at a time.
  • No one over 2 years old will be allowed in without a mask.
  • One way walking experience.
  • Playground remains closed.

Stamford Beaches
Head to West Beach early in the morning so that the kids can play in the sane before it gets hot and before it gets crowded!

Stamford Museum & Nature Center
No pre-registration required and the playground is open.

Best Time Ever Art and Best Place Ever

  • Private tables for each group to paint or stop by to pick out a project to take home.
  • Playscapes are open and do not require reservation.

Honey Joe’s Family Coffeehouse

  • Renting out the play area to families and groups with thorough disinfecting in-between.
  • $100 for 2 hours (+$40 for each additional hour) of exclusive use of the family area for up to 10 people.

Maritime Aquarium

  • Tickets are only available online and need to be secured in advance of your visit. Be sure to reserve a spot for every member of your party… regardless of age.
  • To help monitor capacity, your ticket will only be valid at the entrance time you select.
  • All guests over the age of 2 will need to wear a mask during the entirety of their visit. All Maritime Aquarium team members are required to wear masks also.
