Re-Registering Your 5th & 8th Graders for Next School Year | Stamford Moms
As the parent or guardian of an graduating 5th and/or 8th grader, you may be required to re-register your student for enrollment in 6th or 9th grade before the beginning of the 2018-19 school year.

How do I know if I have to re-register my child?

Families for whom school mail has been returned as “undeliverable” by the U.S. Post Office will be contacted by their children’s schools and be required to verify their address with their child’s school through the re-registration process.

What documents do I need to verify my address?

A list of acceptable documents is available here.

If I need to, how do I re-register my child?

In Person prior to the first day of school:

Make an appointment with your child’s school registrar.
Review and update your child’s address and contact information on the re-registration letter/email and bring a copy of that information with you to your appointment.
Bring two current proofs of address and a current immunization for your child.

More information about required documents is available here.

Is there anything I MUST do before my child enters 6th or 9th grade if I do not get a notice to re-register?

During the 2018-19 school year, all families of 6th and 9th graders will be required to submit updated physicals and immunizations.

Your child’s school nurse will monitor the submission of health information during the 2018-19 school year and contact families of students with incomplete or outdated physicals or immunizations. Please remember to update your child’s health information with your school nurse immediately following your child’s yearly health examination.
