Living In Victory Everyday (LIVE BEADS) is an idea that was born in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company creates brightly beaded and personalized bracelets that are not only trendy and cheerful, but also gives the profit from each bracelet to help those fighting cancer.
Kellie Cooke lives in Stamford and works as a Marketing Assistant. But, in May she came up with the idea of using bracelet making to not only pass the time while in quarantine, but also to spread positivity particularly for her dad who is fighting cancer.
She explains, “I was sitting in my room one night and I thought about ways to bring a smile to my father’s face. Since COVID-19 had the entire city on lock down, I found that making bracelets kept me busy and was going to a good cause.”
Kellie has been making bracelets with her sister’s help ever since. The bracelets are custom hand-made beaded bracelets that cost $5 each. All of the money raised goes toward helping someone with cancer. So far, the company has raised nearly $6,000 in donations and Kellie says she wants to continue to help those battling cancer, to give them something to look forward to after treatment.
“We raised a humbling amount of money and we were able to surprise our father with the money raised, for him to use after treatment was over with,” says Kellie.
“We plan on continuing beading for this amazing cause, and spreading some positivity through rough times. We want to be the reason someone smiles, even though they are going through something terrible, having something to look forward to is what makes a person continue to fight through & come out the other side stronger,” she continues.
You can order bracelets by sending a DM on Instagram or by emailing [email protected]. When ordering, specify bead color choice and the word, saying, initials or dates that you’d like on your bracelet!
