Portion of High Ridge Road Closed Beginning December 14, 2021! | Stamford Moms
The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that that High Ridge Road will be closed in both directions just south of Upper Shad Road in New York to facilitate an Emergency Culvert Repair on High Ridge Road in Pound Ridge, NY.
The continuous closure and detour is estimated to be in place for four weeks, weather dependent, and will begin on Tuesday December 14, 2021.
As a result of this closure, all inbound and outbound Stamford traffic from New York State on High Ridge Road will be detoured around the work site onto local roads. The detour route will direct traffic onto Trinity Pass through Scotts Corners and Westchester Avenue.
This detour route is subject to change based on developing traffic conditions. Stamford bound commercial traffic will have an alternate route to alleviate possible congestion issues.
City staff have been in constant communication with the NYSDOT project team to address our concerns about how this will impact traffic in Stamford, and we will be working closely with the project team to monitor the traffic conditions on Stamford’s roads and address any issues that may arise.

Drivers should seek alternate routes and plan for extra travel time when driving between Stamford and New York.
