Mold Task Force to Hold Meeting About the Cause of Existing School Conditions | Stamford Moms

The Mold Task Force has scheduled a public meeting in April, to discuss their findings with respect to water intrusion and mold conditions in Stamford Public Schools.

The Task Force has been working to identify and documenting the various conditions throughout the district and has worked closely with industry experts to identify the underlying causes as well as overseeing the remediation and restoration work needed. The ultimate goal of the Task Force is to ensure that every school is water tight, mold-free, and supplied with adequate indoor air quality throughout.

The meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 in the Westhill High School auditorium and is open to the public. The Task Force will be joined at the public meeting by members of their professional team, including the industrial hygienist, architects, engineers and construction managers.

“Throughout this entire process, we have consistently heard the community’s request for answers as to how the physical conditions of our schools were allowed to deteriorate to their current state.  We have been mindful not to prejudge the actions of others, choosing instead to follow the facts wherever they may lead. We are now at a point where we can responsibly report on our findings, “said Mold Task Force member Mike Handler.
