Meet Troiquesa! | Stamford Moms

How many kids do you each have and what are their ages?
We have two amazing kids. A two year old boy named Knox Quincy and a one year old girl named Lennox.

What are your favorite family activities in Stamford?
The Nature Center is by far my favorite go to with the kids! Besides the obvious plus of the animals, the playground there is one of Knoxs’ favorites! Close second is Mill River Park, especially when it is warm out we can spend hours there playing by the river or by the park.

What do you love about Stamford?
Honestly, I think what I love most about Stamford is that it’s home. I was born here, I grew up here, I left and came back to raise my kids here. I’ve seen this city develop in so many amazing ways, however nothing beats the food selection. From the restaurants that have been here way before me, to the new spots that have popped up around the city.

Tell us about your new company, Lennox Quincy Essentials.
I created Lennox Quincy Essentials less than a year ago! It’s been crazy, but fun! LQE has a variety of “essential items”. I started with candles because it came the most natural however as planned I’m starting to test the waters of apparel and other items like mugs and gift baskets. I took a bit of a hiatus, to reflect and concentrate on what hit home with my consumers, and I’m super excited to come back full of new idea to try and share!

What inspired you to open Lennox Quincy Essentials?
Motherhood and wanting to create! Before my son was born I was working in New York City in the TV industry and I loved it. The days were super long but the people I worked with were amazing. 9 months pregnant I worked my last commercial and then soon after I had my baby boy Knox! Long story short after spending about 8 months with Knox I realized I wanted to find a job that allowed me to stay at home with him and create. The idea to make / create / curate everyday essentials was rooted. Almost a year, and another baby, later I launched Lennox Quincy Essentials!

What is your favorite item in the shop right now?
That’s a hard one! It’s definitely between the Homebody Sweater and the Wishlist candle. I live in my homebody sweater, but I also can’t stop my tester scent, named Love Notes, for Valentines Day!

How do you juggle work and mommyhood?
Making a conscious effort to keep it separate most of the time. I find that it’s difficult to be present when “moming” and working so neither of those things get the best version of me. When I decide “I’m not worrying about work right I’m going to go run around with the kids” or “I’m going to go work for a few hours” the results of that experience is 1000% better. I also deal with a lot of extremely hot or delicate items so when I do let both worlds intertwine I tend to allow Knox help me measure wax, count out crystals, stir the wax or help me pull vinyl or labels. I get a little work done and my son gets to see his mama work.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
The best piece of advice I’ve received from another mom is, “How you parent is different from another mom and both of you are right.” Being a mother is already so difficult for so many reason, no need to put any more pressure on yourself!
