How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have two daughters ages 28 and 26, and two stepdaughters ages 26 and 18.

What do you love about living in Stamford?
I love Stamford for its diverse neighborhoods—from rural and suburban to urban and waterfront. The city’s vibrant energy and amazingly diverse community make me feel more at home than anywhere else I’ve lived. Plus, the variety of international cuisine options are perfect for a foodie like me!

What are your favorite things to do in the area?
I enjoy walking my dog in one of the many parks – my favorites being Mill River and Mianus River, and playing pickleball at Pickleball America or Cummings Park. Off-season beach walks and strolls around Shippan Point or Cove Island Park are so therapeutic to me. When the weather is nice, my husband and I love to go downtown and sit outside at one of many restaurants that line Bedford and Summer Streets. And of course the entertainment options, from live music to theater, comedy and karaoke, are fantastic.

How did you get into real estate?
I was relocating back to the NYC area from London nearly 25 years ago, and started searching for a house in the suburbs. After viewing many homes and interacting with multiple agents, I realized that there’s a significant need for knowledgeable and diligent real estate professionals. One broker I worked with in Greenwich saw my potential and asked me to join his brokerage, and that’s how my real estate journey began. Since then, I’ve learned that real estate is not just about buying and selling homes; it’s about building relationships.

Tell us about your team.
I founded the SK Homes Team at Compass in 2020 during the pandemic. We are a small yet dynamic team of three, including myself, my team agent Hannah Muppidi—a Stamford mom of two young children—and our team assistant Fritz. Our passion lies in helping people. Our mission is to deliver exceptional real estate services, while fostering lasting relationships that extend far beyond the transaction. I’m proud to share that our team has been recognized as one of the top small teams by RealTrends/WSJ, placing us in the top 1.5% of real estate professionals nationwide for the past four years.

What do you love about your job?
I know it might sound cliché, but it’s true—I love helping people get to their new beginnings. Whether it’s helping buyers with their first home purchase, or helping empty nesters leave their home of 40 years, it’s truly an honor to be a part of my clients’ journeys.

What is your advice to families looking to buy a home in this area?
My advice is to be patient and be ready. The market is fast-paced, and it may take time, but my team and I are here to help you navigate the process and ensure a smooth transition.

What do you feel makes Stamford a great place for families to live?
Stamford offers wonderful neighborhoods, numerous parks and beaches, educational resources such as at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, the Whittingham Discovery Center, SoundWaters Coastal Education, and family-friendly events such as the popular Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular. And, with its proximity to New York City, Stamford provides easy access to cultural, educational and fun excursions.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
As my children are now young adults, I’ve found it challenging to step back and refrain from sharing my opinions on their decisions. After all, our natural instinct as parents is to protect our children from heartbreak and failure. However, a wise friend reminded me to trust in the foundation we’ve built. Whatever choices they make, they will learn and grow from them.
