Meet Stefanie! | Stamford Moms

How many kids do you each have and what are their ages?
My son Asher is 2 ½ years old.

What are your favorite family activities in Stamford?
Anything outdoors! We love walking around Mill River Park in the summer, especially when it’s sakura season and the Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom. We live a short walk from Cover Island Park, so we take advantage of as many outdoor activities as we can, like exploring the Wildlife Sanctuary, playing at the playground, and searching for seashells at Cove Island Beach.

What do you like about living in Stamford?
The diversity of the people, food, language, and culture. I love the walkability of downtown and charming walkable neighborhoods like Harbor Point.

Tell us about your role as Marketing director at the legendary Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.
I’m excited to say that this coming March, I’ll celebrate 8 years working at The Capitol Theatre. My main focus is promoting the venue and the many shows held here, with the ultimate goal of selling tickets and raising awareness about the venue. This is done through e-mail blasts, social media, posters/fliers, PR, digital and print advertising, community relations, partnering with local businesses, and so much more.

What do you love about working there?
As Marketing Director for The Capitol Theatre, I get to work with a fun-loving and dedicated team of music lovers each day. It also means that going to work is fun and enjoyable! One of the best parts of my job is that no day is ever the same, and each show is so different and diverse. And the best part… I get to enjoy shows which is a huge plus!

What can we look forward to seeing from the Capitol Theatre this year? Rock and Roll Playhouse at Garcia’s at the Capitol Theatre was one of our favorite family activities pre-pandemic!
This is a big year for us! On September 4, 2022, The Capitol Theatre will celebrate 10 years since re-opened night, which featured Bob Dylan breathing new life into the venue.

I’m so excited you brought up The Rock And Roll Playhouse! Coming up this year we have concerts for kids with The Rock and Roll Playhouse featuring the music of Queen on February 12, the Grateful Dead on March 12, and David Bowie on April 9. We also always have Grateful Dead night at Garcia’s each week!

We’re known as a rock venue, but people might not realize that The Capitol Theatre is a great place to see comedians. We’re really proud to say that all of comedians coming up are nominated for a Grammy this year: Lewis Black on March 27, Nate Bargatze on April 29, George Lopez on May 12, Chelsea Handler on June 15 and June 16.

Other upcoming artists I’m thrilled to see on the lineup include:

Patti Smith and Her Band, February 24
Brian Fallon, March 2
The Marcus King Band, March 4 & 5
John Fogerty, April 15
Lettuce, April 22
Cat Power, May 22
Steve Vai, October 27

How do you juggle work and mommyhood?
Achieving work-life balance can be a struggle, but as busy as we are, it’s important to eat dinner together, and find time to dance, listen to music, and play! Balance is so important. I try and adjust my schedule to meet the needs of my toddler, which sometimes just means working late after bedtime.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
My mom always taught me that a mother’s love is unconditional and never-ending. My mom always showed me support and helped me survive the ups and downs of life. Her style of parenting has helped me create a strong bond between myself and my son.
