Meet Sam! | Stamford Moms
How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I’m a new mum. Little man is 7 months old! People are not joking when they you warn you how fast it flies.
What do you love about living in Stamford?
My husband and I moved to Stamford 3 years ago with our Golden Doodle pup. It has been the best decision! We wanted to settle in a place halfway between NYC and our family upstate new york. We love that Stamford has all the draws and amenities of a big city with a warm suburban feel.
What’s your favorite restaurant and/or place to shop in Stamford?
Hmmm. We like exploring new places but one of our favorite go-to’s is Hudson Social for small bites.
Tell us about your business, Sam Bufalo Photography.
I own a photography studio based here in Stamford, Sam Bufalo Photography. My passion is preserving moments. Being able to do that for other people has been a dream come true.
How did you get into photography?
I was working for Tiffany & Co.’s Creative Visual Production team and they had a corporate benefit for continuing education. So i enrolled in a digital photography and retouching certificate program at Pace University. I studied my booty off at night (after my 9-5) and found that my photography passion was turning into something i wanted to take up as a potential career. I’m forever grateful for the opportunity and it opening doors for me. I gave the company a decent notice, wrapped up a few projects and then took the leap!
What do you love about your job?
What I love about my job is how it forces me to meet new people and also reconnect with friends i wouldn’t normally see.
What are your tips for parents when it comes to taking family photos?
The number one tip I can give parents for family photos, is to mentally prepare for a session full of love, instead of letting the little things stress you out. It’s so important to forget the camera is there (I know.. easier said than done sometimes) and love on your kiddos as you would any other day. Also— a little bribery is ok. We can keep them going with treats and small gifts if necessary 😉
How do you juggle work and mommyhood?
It’s a work in progress. I definitely underestimated the time needed for maternity leave so I’ll be taking a couple months off to recharge after wedding season edits are wrapped. And I’m beyond excited to be 100% present for Kai and just enjoy the next few months watching him grow.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
Stock up on wine.
