Meet Kelly! | Stamford Moms

How many kids do you have any what are their ages?
I have three beautiful children; Brandon who is 16 years old, Adrian 10 years old and Lauren 5 years old.

What are your favorite family activities in Stamford?
Our favorite activities are hiking at Bartlett Arboretum, riding bikes, and anything outdoors. We also love trying restaurants around town.

Why did you decide to raise your family in Stamford?
I decided to raise my family in the Stamford area because I’ve always felt safe here. Stamford is where I grew up. It’s home, no matter how much it continues to grow it still has this beautiful caring community that I am happy to be a part of.

Tell us about your business.
Spa Dogz is a dog grooming salon that caters to all breeds of dogs, located in Stamford, CT.

I’ve been professionally grooming for 20 years and after many years of experience I decided to open my own family business. Now Spa Dogz has been open for almost 5 years and I couldn’t be any happier. We work with all breeds, they all have very different personalities and vary in all different sizes up to 200 pounds! All our grooming services are provided by our highly trained groomers.

What do you love about your business?
Seeing and interacting with my customers, working with dogs is therapeutic to me. I love to make them look and feel their best!

It’s great to be able to pass along my knowledge and experience to my customers when it comes to any questions they have about their dogs.

How are you doing after the fire that badly damaged your building on Christmas Day?

We’re still recovering from that day. It was very emotional and traumatic for all of us, specially for it to happen on Christmas Day.

We’re very thankful for the fast response from Stamford Fire Department for containing and putting out the fire. We’re still assessing the damages but we do know that due to water damages cause by the sprinkler system we will have a good amount of work ahead of us.

What do you need to do to the structure before reopening?
We have some repairs to do. Luckily the structure is still sound and no major repairs are needed in that aspect.

We are still waiting on few other details to be sorted out, my team and I very excited to rebuild and get back to work!

How can the community help?
The community has been a great help to me already!

I’m very thankful for all the help and support that I have received. We do need a little bit more financial help on the GoFundMe, please continue to share and donate.

Also remember when we officially re-open to schedule your pups appointment and let me continue to do what we love! We can’t wait to get back to work!
