Meet Geri! | Stamford Moms

How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have three beautiful children, my first is Maximillian who is 7, then comes my girl Marley Grace, who is 5yrs olds, and my baby boy Maverick, who is almost 16 months old.

What do you love about living in Stamford?
Well, we just moved to Stamford one year ago, and even though we moved in the middle of a pandemic Stamford has been great to us, with my husband partnering up and became one of the chef owners of a new restaurant in Harbor Point, and has been doing amazing, my children enjoy the parks and the playgrounds.

What are your favorite restaurant and place to shop in Stamford?
My favorite restaurant is TacoDaddy (my answer is biased since my husband is the chef owner). In terms of my favorite places to shop, I’m always at the grocery store, lol, but I enjoy Marshalls, as it’s a one stop shop for the family, and Walmart

Tell us about your new book!
My book is about three amazing children as they learn the value of perseverance. Growing up and discovering new things is both rewarding and exciting. Feelings like frustration and sadness are normal. However, seeing a task through to the end leads to self-acceptance and pride!

What inspired you to write a book?
My children are the source of my inspiration. I worked at an early learning center for five years, and after being on maternity leave, then Covid hit, I was furloughed then laid off completely. But, I wasn’t discouraged that I lost my job, but took it as an opportunity to become a stay at home mom, and every day was a new story. And I noticed that my children were all working on personal goals, and it wasn’t easy, but with me being there, I found myself repeating the words “Don’t Stop, Don’t Quit and Never Give Up!” Which became the title of my first book.

What’s your favorite book to read with your kids?
My daughter enjoys the book “I am Enough” by Grace Bryers, my son currently enjoys hearing the Old McDonald book every night, and Max has been reading to me his new book about Super Mario

How do you juggle work with mommyhood?
Balancing mommyhood and being a new entrepreneur is NOT EASY at all, I’ve made a schedule that somedays works, and other days not so much. I decided not to send my kids to camp this summer, instead I am the camp director, lunch lady, counselor, librarian, nurse, and mommy. I’ve learned that I get most of my work done during nap time, and between the hours of 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. when everyone is sleeping. But I have STRONG FAITH that God will not give me any obstacle that I cannot climb

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
The best mother advice: is to ENJOY them while they are young, and to hold them tight, kiss them every chance I get, and to let them know how much i love them, and that they are the best parts of me.
