Meet Gabriella! | Stamford Moms
How many children do you have any what are their ages?
I have one daughter. Her name is Sofía and she is 9.
What do you like most about living in Stamford?
What i like most about living in Stamford is the sense of community, living in a city that really is so small and mostly everyone knows everyone
What is your favorite restaurant in Stamford?
Sofía and I love sitting at Capriccio in the summer outside on the patio
Tell us about your career.
I have been a nurse for 12 years, I have worked in Med/Surg, Internal Medicine, Pediatric Endocrinology, and currently in Dialysis.
Why did you decide to become a nurse?
I have always wanted to be a nurse since I could remember, I always wanted to take care of other people
What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is my patients, in Dialysis we see our patients 3 times a week so you build a significant relationship with them. It’s exciting and makes me happy when someone receives a transplant that is successful but it is also hard because dialysis is a life sustaining measure not a cure and it’s tough when you lose a patient.
It is tough right now. We do have clinics dialyzing patients who have COVID-19 and have been exposed, so staying safe is my priority for my patients, myself and my family
What is your advice for families in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis?
My advice to moms if you are home enjoy this time you have to spend with the kids and embrace it. For working moms, hang in there it will get better and for my fellow nurses I am praying for you on a daily bases it is an uphill battle for sure but we will get through it one day at a time
