Meet Dr. Kim Nichols! | Stamford Moms

How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I’m a mom of 3! Sasha is 13, Peyton is 10, and Desi is 9.

What made you decide to open the SkinCeuticals SkinLab by NicholsMD in Stamford?
As the founder and board-certified dermatologist of NicholsMD of Greenwich, I wanted a space that would bring NYC-luxury and expertise to Harbor Point, Stamford, CT, like we have in Greenwich, CT.

SkinLab by NicholsMD is a comprehensive skincare destination offering cutting-edge treatments with convenience to meet the demands of today’s consumer, especially in Stamford and Harbor Point. With the tagline, “Great skin, Made easy,” we wanted to take the guesswork out of skincare products and treatments because my team and I offer custom plans and premium services.

Tell us about the SkinCeuticals SkinLab by NicholsMD.
SkinCeuticals SkinLab is a skincare destination that is luxurious, results-driven, and physician-validated. Every treatment, protocol, product, and design has my Dr. Nichols-Stamp-of-Approval to ensure our patients receive non-surgical skincare treatments, with best-in-class service, within an hour.

What do you like about Harbor Point?
Harbor Point is a close-knit community with savvy tenants and lively visitors. And since we opened in March (and then re-opened in May after quarantine), we have found the community to be exactly as we predicted: professional, intelligent, and composed of a diverse group of individuals who want the best-of-the-best for their busy lifestyle.

What do you love about your career?
I love what I do! While I love anything skin-related, after ~15 years of practicing as a dermatologist, there is still no better feeling than having my patients look and feel their best after my expert team and I see them.

What’s you’re #1 piece of advice for moms when it comes to their skin?
Visit your board-certified dermatologist to know exactly what to use on your skin and what treatments to do now. A customized plan is vital, because your skincare needs may be different from those of your friends and colleagues. And therefore, the only skincare advice you should take is that of your dermatologist and her well-trained staff!

What are some of your hobbies or other organizations you’re involved in?
I love to play tennis and hike with my family and friends. I’m also an active board member with the American Red Cross and support the Bruce Museum in Greenwich.

How do you juggle work and mommyhood?
I take it one day at a time and I try to be forgiving with myself. When I am home, I focus on being totally present with my kids. I may even hide my phone to prevent me from emailing or checking on work-related items that can wait.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
Don’t sweat the small stuff!
