Dr. Kelly Wolfe is a Stamford mom of two who founded Evolve Fit Rx during COVID and offers a customized approach to health that seamlessly blends therapeutic care with functional movement. We talked to Dr. Wolfe about the inspiration behind her business, how being local influenced her business and some of her favorite businesses in Stamford.
Tell us about Evolve Fit Rx.
Evolve Fit Rx opened in October 2019 and has grown into a trusted wellness and rehabilitation practice serving Stamford and greater Fairfield County. In January 2023, we opened our Stamford office to offer elevated, personalized physical therapy, recovery, and fitness services in a space designed for whole-body care. Our core services include deep tissue medical massage, manual lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, and one-on-one personal fitness and balance training. Every client begins with a full-body assessment so care is always customized, intentional, and results-driven.
Tell us a little about yourself and your family.
My husband and I moved to Stamford in 2013 and are raising our two children, Grace (11) and Liam (9), here. We’re an active family that loves traveling, eclectic, globally inspired food, and spending weekends at games and performances. Our kids are deeply involved in sports, and we love supporting them on and off the field, as well as nurturing Grace’s growing passion for musical theater. We’re intentional about modeling both hard work and rest, and we genuinely enjoy doing life together.
What inspired you to start Evolve Fit Rx?
Evolve Fit Rx was born during COVID, when people were stuck at home in pain and unsure where to turn. Former patients reached out asking for help, and I began bringing care directly into their homes, which revealed a deeper need for whole-body treatment. One client with a chronic illness inspired me to expand my training in lymphatic drainage and craniosacral therapy to better support how the body heals and clears stress. That experience shaped a practice built around treating systems, not just symptoms.
How would you describe the Evolve Fit Rx community?
Our community is diverse, but everyone shares a desire to feel better and finally get answers. Clients range from people navigating chronic illness or long COVID, to athletes focused on recovery, to individuals who have tried everything else without success. What unites them is our full-body approach, where we assess patterns, imbalances, and systems rather than isolated injuries. People often find us when they’re frustrated—and stay because they finally feel progress.

What do you love most about what you do?
I love the moment when someone leaves my office feeling lighter than when they arrived. Clients often walk in nervous and unsure, but walk out smiling, relaxed, and relieved. That transformation—being heard, understood, and feeling real change—is what keeps me going. As long as I can help people feel better in their bodies, I know I’m doing what I’m meant to do.
How has being local influenced your business?
Being local has shaped everything about Evolve Fit Rx because I’m serving the same community I’m raising my family in. My earliest clients were other moms, and I understood how hard it was to care for yourself while caring for everyone else. That’s why every session is designed to be impactful and truly worth their time. The trust and referrals from this community have been the foundation of our growth, and I’m incredibly grateful for it.
What’s one thing you want people to know about Evolve Fit Rx?
I often joke that my job is part structural engineer, part electrician, and part plumber—and it’s actually the best way I can describe how we work at Evolve Fit Rx. As a structural engineer, I work with the musculoskeletal system, using deep tissue medical massage to restore balance and alignment. As an electrician, I focus on the nervous system, understanding how pain patterns and movement are wired together. And as a plumber, I work with the lymphatic and circulatory systems to help fluid move and clear in a way that creates real change instead of just pushing things around.
That combination is what makes our care different. We don’t just treat symptoms—we restore flow, connection, and function across the entire system so the body can truly heal.
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
I love being outside—anything that connects me to nature and the present moment. It might be hiking at Mianus River Park, sitting at the beach with a book, or simply enjoying quiet time in the sun. Being outdoors is how I recharge. And if I can’t get outside, you’ll find me in a hot yoga class resetting my nervous system.
What’s one local business you love (besides your own)?
There are so many local businesses I love, but a few truly stand out. Connecticut Power Yoga is where I go to take care of myself and reset, both physically and mentally. Integrative Family Medicine of Connecticut, led by Dr. Minna Kim, offers a thoughtful, whole-body approach to care that I deeply respect. And Evolution Physical Therapy and Fitness is an exceptional resource for anyone seeking high-quality, in-network physical rehabilitation. These businesses reflect the kind of care, intention, and community that make this area feel like home.
