How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have one daughter and she is 7 years old.
What do you love about living in Stamford?
That’s hard to say because we love everything about Stamford. We always say that our move was meant to be here. In 2020, during the pandemic, we decided we wanted to move from an apartment in Westchester to a house with a backyard so that we could get a dog. We found the house that we are current living and in a couple of weeks we were moving. I just fell in love with my neighborhood and my cute house. It was a nice surprise how great the schools, people, parks, beaches and restaurants are. I also like that it is close to NY. I also love that Chelsea Piers is right around the corner so my family and I had a great club to join.
What’s your favorite restaurant and/or place to shop in Stamford?
We have a list of places we like to go. Some examples are: Trader Joe’s for supermarket. Zaza Italian Gastrobar, Remo’s Pizza, Lucky’s, Shiki Hibachi & Sushi, Humbled Coffeehouse and House of Humbled for clothes. There are soooo many things I love in Stamford!!
Tell us Crystal Decor Painting.
Crystal Decor Painting was opened in 2018 after my husband decided he was tired of working for other companies after more than 20 years. He is an experienced and very skilled painter, knows lots of great painters and has worked with great crews. He needed help with paper work, emails, estimates, managing, etc. so that’s when we decided to work together and make it our business. I take care of all the managing, estimates and paperwork, he takes care of the crew and projects. It is a perfect match, and we love working together!
We now have a crew of six great professional painters, and we do all kinds of paint projects, including interior, exterior, wallpaper installation, kitchen cabinet refinishing, decorative paint, commercial and residential.
What do you love about your job?
I love meeting our clients, listening to what they’re looking for and seeing their happy face after we complete the job just the way they asked. I like to see the before and after to show how paint can change the entire atmosphere of a space.
What are your favorite types of painting jobs?
We have no preference, but we do really enjoy kitchen cabinet transformations, and we love any other projects that comes with a beautiful paint scheme.
What is your #1 tip for families looking to paint their space?
I always recommend getting a color consultant and good quality paint ( we like water-based paint best). When you get a quote from a company, ask lots of questions to understand the process it will take to complete the job.
How do you juggle work and mommyhood?
Some days are harder than the others but in general, I can’t complain because my hours are flexible and if I need, I can take my daughter with me for an estimate or a job visit. She always brings me luck, and we get the job when she is with me.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
That we must support each other and help one another to grow, enjoy a glass of wine often and be happy!
