When my daughter told me she loved me for the first time.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some “me time”?
Treating myself to a facial by Paula Carson skincare, it’s heaven.

Tell us about your career.
Since the age of 9 I knew I wanted to be a fashion designer so I studied fashion design and earned my Bachelor Degree. From there I began my career in fashion by designing for well known labels in England like All Saints and Top Shop. While traveling across the globe as a designer for multiple companies, I gained unique fashion and cultural experiences in cities across France, Brazil, India and Turkey, which continue to inspire my work today. It was after meeting my husband and discovering a mutual affinity for the U.S. that I decided to follow an opportunity to style and design in America. I began by working as the head designer for Alice & Trixie where celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Halle Berry & Alessandra Ambrosia all wore my designs.

In 2018, I was invited to work for Tom Ford at the country’s premiere fashion industry event, New York Fashion Week. This experience has been the pinnacle of my career to date.

Why did you decide to start your own company?
So I could balance being a Mum whilst doing what I love.

Tell us about your company.
I offer personal styling services for women, men and children. First we will do a consult so I can get to know you and your reason for needing my help a few examples are, not having the confidence whilst shopping, weight loss/gain, going to an event, vacation. I then go through your closet and edit.  We will decide what to keep, donate, consign or get altered. From there I will put new looks together with your existing clothing and take pictures of the looks which I will then turn into a digital look book. This makes getting dressed so much easier for my clients that struggle with new ways to wear their pieces. Also busy Mom’s who don’t have time to plan an outfit. I also make a list of item’s you may be missing or need to complete your closet. I offer personal shopping so we can got together to complete your looks or I can find the pieces if preferred.

How did you come up with the concept?
After working in fashion industry for over 15 years I realized so many people aren’t confident when it comes to clothes. I wanted to change that by helping people look and feel their best. Then when my daughter started kindergarten getting her dressed in the mornings was a nightmare – she’d change multiple times before we had to run out of the door. It was then that I decided to offer children’s look books, I put together multiple outfits, photograph them and put them into a look book so the child can navigate and get themselves dressed hassle free in the mornings.

How does your job help you connect with other moms?
It helps me realize that we are all in the same boat and allows me to help them look and feel great whilst helping them do something for themselves.

What are 3 things every mom should have in her closet?
A great white t-shirt, a good pair of jeans and a pair of killer heels.

How do you balance work & mommyhood?
I’m lucky that I can schedule my appointments around my daughter’s school/activities as I don’t want to miss them. This means I get quality time with her but also get my work done.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
Drink up! haha
