Meet A Mom: Golnar | Stamford Moms

How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have two kids. A 3 year old boy named Ari and a 5 month old daughter named Alia.

How long have you lived in Stamford? What made you decide to live here?
I moved here 8 years ago for a job from Salt Lake City Utah.

What’s your favorite family activity in Stamford?
We love the Nature Center in Stamford. The animals and little hikes make for a fun time.

Where’s your favorite place to eat in Stamford?
I love food… favorite place is Roasted on 148 Bedford street – best salads and sandwiches in the area.

What are your diaper bag must haves when you leave the house?
With wipes and treats! I can basically solve all problems.

What’s been your favorite “mommy moment” so far?
I love being a cheerleader for them. Watching them grow up is the most amazing feeling in the world. Watching their persistence to figure things out is unreal. I like sitting on the side being there for whatever support they need.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some “me time”?
Me time = coffee time!!! I like to sit at a coffee shop for 30-60 minutes, sip my coffee and read a book.

How did you get the idea to start Life Cycle?
I’ve always used indoor cycling to help me achieve my fitness goals. Over the years I observed how a little cardio could help someone’s overall mood and being as a whole. I’ve also loved being a coach and motivating others to believe in themselves and their abilities. So, then my husband and I decided to have kids I evaluated our lives and decided that I no longer wanted to work in an office and give the best hours of my day to other people. I wanted to spend it with my family. So I took my passion for cycling and coaching and dislike for working and created Life Cycle. A fun studio where I get to set my own hours and surround myself with amazing people every day.

Tell us about the studio.
Life Cycle is much more than a typical fitness boutique. Why? Well, first of all, as Downtown Stamford’s Premiere Spin Studio, we use RealRyder® bikes. These state-of-the-art bikes lean, turn, and tilt with your body, offering a total-body workout that’s unmatched by any other stationary equipment. Second, you’ll notice right away that we are a judgment-free family that breaks the cold, intimidating mold of many niche studios. Last, but certainly not least, we round out our fitness regimen with specialty TRX classes. So, just when you thought your core couldn’t take any more, these suspension trainers will take things to the next level.

How has Life Cycle helped you connect to other Stamford moms?
Life Cycle has helped me connect with so many great moms. Throughout the year we tend to offer pre and post natal classes which help moms stay or get back in shape and feel strong and confident. Our community is full of moms and we love to share ideas and stories every day.

How do you balance career & mommyhood?
Balancing my career with mommyhood is difficult, however I just do it. I knew leaving my corporate job that being a mom would be my priority and I’ve kept that promise to myself and the babies. When my kids are awake I am a mom, and when they sleep I become the mastermind behind Life Cycle and helping others change their lives. I basically don’t let nap times go to waste when it comes to building my business.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
The best advice I’ve received is to stop, drop, and roll. Just kidding… I would have to say the best advice is to just let things go. Nothing is perfect and certainly not being a mom.
