Looking To Help Patients With COVID-19? | Stamford Moms

Have you recovered after testing positive for COVID-19 and are now looking to help others who have also tested positive?

Stamford Hospital is conducting a study to research the feasibility and safety of convalescent plasma (CP) in patients with COVID-19 and you may be able to help. The hospital announced that the first patient in the Plasma Clinical Trial has come off a ventilator. The hospital now has a dozen patients on the experimental treatment for COVID-19.

  • CP is obtained by collecting plasma from a patient who has already recovered from COVID-19 and developed an immunity.
  • It is hoped that the plasma will be helpful to sick patient and aid in their recovery.
  • CP will be collected at the New York Blood Bank and goes directly back to Stamford Hospital to be used for patients from our community.
