Ways to Encourage Summer Reading! - Stamford Moms

If you’re looking for fun ways to encourage summer reading, we have a few options in and around Stamford!

KIDS SUMMER LEARNING CLUB

The Ferguson Library’s Kids Summer Learning Club is for children from birth – entering grade 5 and begins on Saturday, June 14.

Kickoff Events Include:

Free Kona Ice
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Harry Bennett Branch
Lawn games and a free Kona Ice (while supplies last). All ages.

Make Your Own Sundaes
1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
South End Branch at Waterside
Enjoy sweet treats, help decorate the library and have fun with crafts and games. All ages.

Family Celebration
1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Main Library Outdoor Plaza
Create henna designs, face painting. All ages.

Book Giveaway and Crafts
1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Bookmobile at Mill River Park
1010 Washington Boulevard
All ages.

Visit any library location to pick up a paper tracking log or register yourself on a computer.

TEEN SUMMER LEARNING CLUB

The Ferguson Library’s Teen Summer Learning Club is for “teens” entering grades 6 – 12 this coming Fall. It begins on Monday, June 16.

Relief Painting
Monday, June 16 from 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Main Library Lower Level Community Area
Embrace your inner artist with this technique that results in a textured, three-dimensional effect on a flat surface using paint with cardboard cutouts. Grades 6 to 12. Registration required.
