Looking for a fun, safe activity that will keep your kids engaged and learning during the final month of summer? There’s no better way to accomplish all of this while connecting with your child, than by reading! Make it even more fun by registering for the Ferguson Library’s Kids Summer Reading Club!
The program is for children from birth to those entering fifth grade. Have your child log minutes either on paper or online with ReadSquared or through the ReadSquared app. Earn points by reading or doing other interactive BINGO board missions. If your child earns 500 points by August 31, they become a Summer Reading Finisher!
Stamford Moms is partnering with Stamford Cradle to Career (SC2C) to get as many kids reading this summer as possible! SC2C’s mission is to align community resources to ensure equity and excellence in education for all of Stamford’s youth. Summer reading is more important than ever this year given the disparities in our community that have been brought to light by COVID-19. SC2C’s summer literacy initiative is providing literacy support to staff and students at local summer camp programs as well as spreading the word about the Ferguson Library’s summer reading club.
Post a photo of you reading with your child on Instagram between now and August 31 with #stamfordreads and tag @stamfordc2c and qualify to win a $50 gift card to Remo’s and a basket of books curated by the Ferguson Library’s youth librarians targeted to your child’s age!
Registering for the summer reading program is easy – do to www.stamfordreads.com to register each child!
All branches of the Ferguson Library are now open. Masks are required to enter. Find more information about the Ferguson Library’s summer programs, here!
If you are looking for book recommendations for your child, when you sign up, you can specify your child’s interests and reading level for recommendations or find some here!
