Infant Ibuprorofen Recall | Stamford Moms

Infant ibuprofen sold at CVS, Walmart and Family Dollar stores are being recalled.

Tris Pharma, Inc. voluntarily pulled the pain reliever/fever reducer from shelves because it says the medicine could contain higher concentrations of ibuprofen than the label indicates. The medicine is supposed to contain 50 mg of Ibuprofen per 1.25 mL. The company says there have not been reports of illnesses, but says there is a “remote possibility” the increased amount of ibuprofen could lead to permanent kidney injury in infants. Other possible effects include nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, or diarrhea, Tinnitus, headache and gastrointestinal bleeding.
