Stamford’s magnet schools offer educational choices to parents through innovative programs of theme-based instruction. Application deadlines for the 2019-2020 school year are fast approaching. Below is a rundown of what you need to know about your options and how to apply.

Rogers International School
International Baccalaureate Program, K-8

Strawberry Hill School
International Baccalaureate Program (IB), K – 3 in 2018-19 to grow to K – 8 by 1 grade each year

Toquam Magnet School
Bank Street Program, K-5

Westover Magnet Elementary
Mastery Learning, Problem Solving and the Arts, K-5

Scofield Magnet Middle School
Math, Science, Technology, Grades 6 – 8

Magnet Elementary Schools

Hart, Toquam and Westover Magnet Elementary schools enroll students from all parts of Stamford by a lottery process.

Rogers International and Strawberry Hill Magnet Elementary schools are Inter-District Magnet Schools and invite students from Stamford and the surrounding towns. Each has a preferred area.

Strawberry Hill Magnet Elementary opened in September 2016 and enrolled students in kindergarten and grade one, with one grade added each year thereafter. In 2018-19, Strawberry Hill included grades K-3 and will eventually include grades K-8. As an Inter-District Magnet School, Strawberry Hill invites students from Stamford and the surrounding towns.

Magnet Middle Schools

Scofield Magnet Middle School enrolls students from all parts of Stamford by a lottery process. Rogers International School goes up to grade 8.

The Academy of Information Technology & Engineering is an Inter-District Magnet Schools and invite students from Stamford and the surrounding towns.

Deadlines for the 2019-2020 School Year

AITE Magnet School Lottery application deadline: 
4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25.
Elementary Magnet School Lottery application deadline:
4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1.
Scofield Magnet School Lottery application deadline:
4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1.
