The Ferguson Library is kicking off the Children’s Summer Reading Club this weekend! The theme this year for children, teens and adults is “A Universe of Stories.” The library will have exciting programs and prizes for all ages. Head to any of the Ferguson Library branches in Stamford to sign up starting Saturday. That day, each has a drop-in fun event planned!
Join Rolie Polie Guacamole at 11 a.m. at the main library for a fun kick off concert that will be fun for the whole family!
Head to the Harry Bennett branch between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to create a rocket ship and sign up.
The Weed Memorial & Hollander Branch will have special activities and refreshments from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and the South End branch will have special activities and refreshments beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The Teen Summer Reading Kick-Off will be at the main Library on Wednesday, June 19 at 4 p.m. Chocolatier Kim Larson will teach kids grades 6 – 12 all about chocolate including how to make it, then give them time to EAT it! Please be sure to sign up for this event here!
How do I sign my child up?
Head to one of the library branches between Saturday, June 15 and Saturday, August 31 to sign up for the Summer Reading Club. Your child will get a FREE BOOK just for signing up! As an extra perk, the library will waive overdue fines when you sign up for summer reading.
What are the perks?
Existing overdue fines will be forgiven if you register for a summer reading club.
If you read 300 minutes during the summer, you get a FREE TICKET to the finale event on Saturday, August 17. Plus, enter a weekly raffle when your child completes a different challenge EACH WEEK and telling the library’s teen volunteers about it at the library. If your child read 500 minutes, they receive another FREE BOOK
Please note, the last day to pick up prize books is Saturday, August 31.
