The Stamford Moms August Bucket List is here to help you soak in the remaining days of summer before school starts!

Scroll down for a list of our 26 favorite activities to do in Stamford and the surrounding area this month (one for every day of August before school starts) to keep everyone smiling daily and to help your family build amazing memories of Summer 2025!

  1. Grab pizza and have a picnic dinner or grab donuts and have breakfast at West Beach! Build a sand castle, play in the water and on the playground.
  2. Reserve your spot at the Fun in the Summer Pop-Up at Cummings Beach on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3.
  3. Get some snacks and take a walk in Stamford Downtown to find all 26 pigs that are part of the outdoor sculpture exhibit.
  4. Bounce into fun in the brand new Astro Bounce House at Angel Land at Stamford Town Center.
  5. Get some energy out at the newly renovated Mill River Park playground (at the corner of Tresser Boulevard and West Main Street).
  6. Enjoy outdoor building time at Wednesday Building Stations at Stamford Museum & Nature Center through August 13, 2 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
  7. Watch a movie outdoors – A Minecraft Movie is playing on August 2 and Harold and the Purple Crayon on August 8 at Mill River Park and movies play on Wednesday evenings in Commons Park at Harbor Point through August 13.
  8. Grab your hard hat and head to Construction Tyme at Bishops Orchard in Guilford, CT through August 10.
  9. Make a splash! Cool down at one of the splash pads at Scalzi Park or Triangle Park in Harbor Point or at Dorothy Heroy Pool.
  10. Get creative and participate in the Lil’ Canvas Kids Summer Drawing Challenge.
  11. Check out Summer Fun Thursday, 3 p.m. at Stamford Town Center for a performance in Grand Court every Thursday through August 14.
  12. Grab some local goodies at a farmers market.
  13. Take a day trip to LEGOLAND New York.
  14. Enjoy a morning on the boardwalk at Harbor Point! Grab breakfast and coffee, play in the sandbox, bring the kids’ scooters or bikes to ride and swing on the boardwalk swings.
  15. Participate in an outdoor story time at Commons or Latham Park.
  16. Jump over to Funbox (the world’s biggest bounce house) at Connecticut Post Mall in Milford.
  17. Cool off by enjoying an indoor play cafe – Honey Joe’s Family Coffeehouse, Totsy Turvy Cafe and Play and MiniTown Café & Play.
  18. Roller skate, bike, barbecue, ride scooters, walk, jog and ride the tram at Cove Island Park… maybe event catch the ice cream truck.
  19. Explore the sunflower fields.
  20. Cheer on the The Hartford Yard Goats at a game.
  21. Stop by The Maritime Aquarium for an up-close encounter with lorikeets through Labor Day.
  22. Take a cruise and tour of the Sheffield Island Lighthouse Museum from Norwalk.

  24. Satisfy your sweet tooth at Candy Connection‘s new store at 187 Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich.
  25. Enjoy Saturday night as a family at Outhouse Orchards Summer Saturday Night in North Salem, NY through August 23.
  26. Try a new sport as a family! Play pickleball at Pickleball America or visit the driving range at Sterling Farms Golf Course.
