We hope your summer has been full of laughter, pool, beach and play time! While Wednesday, August 30 does mark the beginning of a new school year for Stamford Public School students, there is still plenty of time to soak up and ENJOY this last month of summer.

We want to help you have as much fun as possible! That’s why we’ve put together the August 2023 Stamford Moms Bucket List! Scroll down for a list of our 29 favorite activities to do in Stamford and the surrounding area this month (one for every day before school starts) to keep everyone smiling daily and to help your family build amazing memories of Summer 2023!

  1. Grab coffee or ice cream downtown and check out Duck, Duck, Goose in Stamford Downtown
  2. Race & play at RPM Stamford’s go-kart track, arcade and bowling lanes
  3. Watch a movie outdoors
  4. Make a splash at Slide City Water Park, the world’s first all inflatable pop-up waterpark at Danbury Fair beginning August 15
  5. Grab breakfast, have a picnic at West Beach and play on the playground
  6. Enjoy the sunshine at a beer garden
  7. Rent a kayak or paddleboard through SoundWaters
  8. Head to the Sunday Summer Concert Series at Bartlett Arboretum
  9. Visit Designs by Lee to shop for your garden, play on the playground and visit the goats
  10. Go for a hike… we love Mianus River Park, Bartlett Arboretum, Stamford Museum & Nature Center and Greenwich Audubon Center
  11. Check out Summer Fun Thursday, 3 p.m. at Stamford Town Center and grab a treat from Cretzel’s or Pink Sweet Cakes
  12. Shop local at a farmers market
  13. Grab coffee and play in the sand on the boardwalk at Harbor Point (bring the kids’ scooters or bikes and ride on the boardwalk) and play in the splash pad at Triangle Park
  14. Go swimming at Dorothy Heroy Pool

  16. Participate in one of the Ferguson Library’s outdoor story times at Commons or Latham Park
  17. Enjoy a cooking class… for the kids, as a family or for a date night at Hudson Table

  19. Drop-in for an activity at Chelsea Piers
  20. Visit one of the museumes offering free admission through CT Summer at the Museum
  21. Cool off by enjoying playtime and a snack at Honey Joe’s Family Coffeehouse… then check out the Whittingham Discovery Center
  22. Head to Rye Playland for a day of rides, games, beach and pool
  23. Visit the Maritime Aquarium’s newest Touch Tank for an up-close encounter with Atlantic sturgeon
  24. Enjoy Bubble-Palooza at Stepping Stones daily through August 13 and Big Top Bonanza August 14 – September 3
  25. Eat and enjoy family time at the Hey Stamford Food Festival, August 11-13 and August 18-20
  26. Head to Cove Island Park to roller skate, bike, barbecue, ride scooters, walk, jog and ride the tram
  27. Get moving with Museum Movers: Yoga for Kids at the Bruce Museum, August 9 & August 23
