Children under the age of 18 will receive free admission to the Bruce Museum in Greenwich on weekends during the summer of 2026, thanks to an anonymous donor. The “Summer Weekends 2026 Kids are Free at the Bruce” program begins on Saturday, July 4 and runs through Sunday, August 30. During this time, children with an accompanying adult can enjoy weekends at the Bruce without paying the admission fee. To participate in the “Summer Weekends 2026 Kids are Free at the Bruce” program, visitors must purchase their tickets from the Visitor Services team at the main entrance.
As an added benefit, on most of these summer weekends families can engage in a drop-in art or science activity in the Cohen Education Wing from 1-3pm. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a summer Dinosaur Discovery Family Day on Sunday, July 19. These activities are all included during the “Summer Weekends 2026 Kids are Free at the Bruce” time period.
“Summer Weekends 2026 Kids are Free at the Bruce” is made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor who wished to make engagement with art and science accessible for all families and support the Bruce’s mission of cultivating discovery and wonder and engaging a broad audience through the power of art and science.
During the summer of 2026 the Bruce has an exciting exhibition that families can experience through the “Summer Weekends 2026” program. Now on view in both the changing art and science galleries is Six Extinctions, a tour de force traveling exhibition by Gondwana Studios that tells the dramatic story of the mass extinctions that have impacted life on Earth. In Six Extinctions visitors will encounter the remarkable species that were wiped out in these events such as dinosaurs, including a giant Tyrannosaurus rex, armored fish, giant flightless birds, and the Thylacine, also known as the Tasmanian tiger. The Bruce Museum will be the first venue on the show’s North American tour.
