5 Children’s Museums to Visit in Manhattan! | Stamford Moms

Winter is a great time to explores some of the fun museums geared toward kids in NYC! We have put together a list of five that are sure to entertain your kids (and maybe even you) on these final chilly days! Plus, the train ride in will be entertainment in and of itself!

The Sloomoo Institute

475 Broadway, New York
The “Sloomooverse” as it’s called, combines scents including birthday cake, fresh berries, cotton candy, and more with sounds that energize and soothe. Plus at the Sloomoo Institute, the kids can design their dream slime at the DIY Bar that includes 4,320,000 unique combinations! It’s a great way for the kids to play with slime, without bringing the slime mess into your living room!

Museum of Ice Cream

This is one you’re sure to love, too (especially if you love ice cream)! At the Museum of Ice Cream, play in the famous sprinkle pool and ride on our animal cookie carousel, learn all about the history of ice cream and best of all… EAT UNLIMITED ice cream treats in 5 different shapes and forms!

Wonderland Dreams by Alexa Meade

Wonderland Dreams by Alexa Meade brings to life the story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in a hand painted immersive exhibit. On Sundays, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wonderland Dreams becomes a family-friendly jamboree, with activities for every age! During that time, tickets include entry to the immersive experience, entertainment throughout the building and character photo opportunities! For an additional fee, add on a paintable object in the painting workshop!

Candytopia

111 W 32nd St, New York
With more than a dozen rooms and environments (including the marshmallow pit) and treat your family to Candytopia! Plus, hang out in the candy lounge afterward!

The Children’s Museum of Manhattan

Current exhibits at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan include Adventures with Dora and Diego, Inside Art: Create, Climb, Collaborate, PlayWorks, Right to Vote and Superpowered Metropolis: Early Learning City™! Sunday Funday on April 23, 2023 includes educator-led activities, magic shows, indoor sports and games, face painting, family dance parties, food and snacks, and much more.
