I love Christmastime… and I love decorating for Christmas even more. Actually, it’s totally impossible to walk into the crawl space in our house because it’s overloaded with Christmas decorations. But, this year I decided to simplify the decor a bit. Not only did I not have two full days to get everything up, but also I have a 1 year old who I can only say no to so many times in a day.
So this year, I stuck with just putting out my favorite little sparkly trees and a few other things that I love. But I found that two very basic decorations helped me pretty effortlessly get our house looking full of Christmas cheer!
Little Red Bows
I got these little red bows from Amazon and used them to give our every day home decor a Christmas flair! I put them on top of our ginger jars, topiaries, teapot… basically anywhere I could tie them. They’re classic, adorable and will be easy to put away in zip lock bags to save for next year once the holidays are over. Plus, they’re really inexpensive! I also got these larger ones to put on wreaths.
Christmas Balls
Usually, our Christmas tree is perfectly coordinated with red and gold ornaments and matching red ribbon. But this year, we decided to do a sentimental tree using ornaments from mine and my husband’s childhood, as well as the ones we’ve gotten in the 10 years we’ve been together. So that left me with a ridiculous number of red and gold christmas balls. I ended up putting them in the bowls I have throughout the house which again added Christmas spirit to our daily decor! I have them in a variety of sizes which definitely adds to the look. You can pick your favorite two or three colors and just dump them in bowls for a beautiful and inexpensive look!
