Stamford Medical Marijuana Facility Approved | Stamford Moms

A medical marijuana dispensary is on its way to Stamford.

On Tuesday, Arrow Alternative Care was given approval to open the facility at 806 East Main Street. The Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) announced that it’s one of nine new dispensaries now approved to open in Connecticut. The others will be located in Westport, Torrington, New Haven, Meriden, Groton, Newington, Mansfield and Windham. They join the nine facilities now operating in the state.

According to the DCP, the Medical Marijuana Program in Connecticut has grown quite a bit since the last time new facility licenses were issued in January 2016. At that time, there were 8,228 patients using the program. Today, there are 30,448.

The newly approved dispensary facilities will receive their licenses after paying their license fee and submitting final documentation, which must happen within 14 days. After that, facilities will begin construction.
