Brownie Greenhouse Scientist
Bartlett Arboretum

Bartlett Arboretum staff will guide Brownies through a plant’s structure and adaptations. In the middle of winter, visit a tropical location… in Stamford! Participants will get to pot a plant to take home. (For: Troops, Individuals with an adult) Fee: $14/girl, $8/adult

Winter Break Out Day: Frozen Frenzy
Stamford Museum & Nature Center

Discover the science of ice and snow during our own frozen celebration! Learn how animals prepare for winter, make your own snow, go on a snow scavenger hunt, play in our indoor snow room, and more! Meet Elsa and create some great winter crafts.

Commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by creating artwork inspired by MLK’s values of compassion, love, courage, forgiveness, and community. Engage in thoughtful activities that get you thinking about your community, including a canned-food drive organized by Neighbor-to-Neighbor. Live performances by the Bright Star Theatre Company at 11:00 am, “Heroes of the Underground,” and 1:00 pm, “Let it Shine.” Free with Museum admission or canned goods; no registration required.

NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE

Martin Luther King Day of Service
Stamford JCC
10 a.m. – noon
Service projects include making sandwiches for Jewish Family Services to be distributed to those in need.
Book reading and activity for children ages 4 – 9
Also, help make birthday cards for the JCC Seniors!
