Valentine’s Day is Friday! And let’s face it, when becoming parents, despite our best efforts, date night with our significant other become few and far between. That’s why, when finally booking a babysitter and getting out alone, it’s so important to choose a restaurant both you and your partner will actually enjoy! So whether you make it out on Valentine’s Day or any other time, here’s a look at a few of our favorites… plus a fun Valentine’s Day wine and cheese tasting at Wagon Wheel Wine & Spirits!

If you do manage to make it out on Friday night, we also have a list of local businesses offering Parents’ Night Out events to keep the kids entertained!

78 Southfield Avenue
Stamford, CT

Prime is a great option if you’re looking to dine on the water and is perfect for a dinner date or for a date day brunch! There’s also a $45 Price Fixed Menu on Sunday nights. I love their sushi and the salmon dish is great, too! Plus, you can take a walk on the dock before or after your meal.

114 East Putnam Avenue
Riverside, CT

My husband and I went to Tony’s at the J House for our a date night this past weekend and loved it! There was a live band (that was really talented) playing at the bar which really created a fun atmosphere. The service was great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the loaded baked potato as a side dish (although, it’s huge so you’ll want to share). Same goes for the carrot cake if you save room for dessert! We didn’t make a reservation and they were able to seat us inside right away. But, if you’d like to sit on the beautiful patio I recommend a reservation!

2 South Water Street
Greenwich, CT

Char Restaurant is where we had my bridal shower, so it’ll always be a special place for me! But it’s also great for date night. The fireplace makes it feel cozy and if you want to grab a drink before or after dinner, the bar is roomy. The Crispy Chili-Garlic Shrimp is a great appetizer and the French Toast Style Bread Pudding is a must-try!

258 Westchester Avenue
Pound Ridge, NY

The Inn at Pound Ridge just feels special with dim lighting, an attentive wait staff and decor that’s a perfect mix of elegant and rustic. We went for our anniversary on a week night and while I made a reservation, it didn’t seem like we would have had a problem getting a table. Although, on the weekends I would definitely be sure to make one! The Burrata with Fresh Strawberry Compote was amazing and so were the House Made French Fries! This is an especially great option if you live in North Stamford!

205 Main Street
Stamford, CT

Columbus Park Trattoria is a delicious option for Italian food! Their menu includes homemade pasta, marinara and other sauces. Start with a meat and cheese plate to share and save room for one of the great pasta dishes! Plus, it’s conveniently located in Stamford Downtown if you are heading to a movie or a show at the Palace Theatre to round out your evening!
230 Tresser Boulevard
Stamford, CT
Everything we’ve ever had at Capital Grille is just great! Plus, they’re really sweet when it comes to celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions!
371 Shippan Avenue
Stamford, CT
Cafe Silvium is casual and absolutely delicious! Yes, you will probably have to wait for a table because they only take reservations for parties of six or more on Friday and Saturday. On weekdays, you can make a reservation for any size party. But, it’s worth it… plus this is definitely the restaurant with the biggest bang for your buck on our list. Definitely the perfect place to enjoy a hearty Italian meal!
